Stage 1:
Client Brief and Outline Design Proposal

  • An initial consultation and site visit allows me to understand your garden needs, aspirations and requirements. This is an opportunity to discuss and agree the key functional and aesthetic requirements and create the initial ‘client brief’.

  • This is the information gathering phase where information on topography, soils, aspect and other critical elements essential to the design process are captured. As part of this phase we will commission a topographic survey of the site to obtain accurate measurements which are essential for the design process.

  • Using your client brief and the inputs from the design survey we will create an outline design proposal which will be presented to you as a plan for your garden, a 3D CAD model, illustrations of your new garden as well as a mood boards illustrating the look and feel to help you visualise your new garden. During the consultation we will discuss the proposal in depth and agree any changes.

  • This is the final plan which captures the agreed layout for your garden taking into account all your feedback.

Stage 2:
Detailed Garden Design

  • We work up all the details of the plan to enable accurate quotations from contractors. This includes construction drawings for the key hard landscaping elements such as paving, steps, walls, water features etc and planting plans for your garden. These detailed plans allow contractors to quote more accurately and provide you with greater confidence.

  • We only work with qualified and accredited landscape contractors who we know have had experience building and delivering high quality garden designs. This means you can have confidence that the design you love will be delivered in reality. We will coordinate the quotation process on your behalf in which 2 or 3 contractors will be invited to quote to build your garden.

Stage 3:
Garden Build and Planting

  • Your appointed contractor will build the garden on your behalf. We will continue to liase with the contractor and you to make sure everything is running smoothly and the build is to the highest possible standards.

  • The final stage is the planting of the garden. The borders will be prepared, plants positioned and planted by the contractor. We will use our expertise and knowledge to make sure the planting design aesthetic is delivered.

  • Gardens are living spaces that will evolve across the seasons and over time. To keep your garden looking great a degree of maintenance is always required. We will communicate key maintenance requirements to keep your garden looking beautiful.
